Troubleshooting
Resolve missing audio, source access, transcript model, sync, backup, and playback problems.
Start with the section that matches what you see. Most Audely problems come from source access, an iCloud file that is not downloaded, a missing transcript model, or an account state that needs attention.
An episode is visible but will not play
- Confirm that the source file still exists.
- If it lives in iCloud Drive, make sure it is downloaded on the current device.
- Open Settings › Library and review the source status.
- Relink the folder if it moved or the system permission was lost.
- Scan the source again after access is restored.
A source folder is unavailable
Open the source in Settings and use the available relink or recovery action. Choose the current location of the same folder. Audely will attempt to reconnect existing library items without changing their established identities.
New files do not appear
Run a source scan from Settings. Confirm that the files use supported audio formats and are fully available to the device.
Transcript generation will not start
- Confirm that Audely Pro is active. Starting generation and downloading the model require Pro.
- Confirm that a transcript model is downloaded.
- Check available device storage.
- Make sure the source audio is playable.
- Cancel a stuck generation before starting it again.
- On iPhone and iPad, generate one episode at a time.
Sync is not updating
- Confirm that sync is enabled on both devices.
- Check that both devices are signed into the intended iCloud account.
- Review the sync status in Audely Settings.
- Confirm network access and available iCloud storage.
- Remember that source audio and folder access do not sync.
A cloud backup cannot be created
Check the signed-in iCloud account, network access, available storage, and the backup status shown in Settings. Cloud backups require Audely Pro.
Restored items cannot play
A backup restores library information, not source audio or folder permissions. Link the appropriate source folder and allow Audely to match the restored records to available files.
Removing something did not delete the audio
That is expected. Audely’s library removal actions preserve source files. Use Finder or Files only when you intentionally want to delete the actual audio.
Still stuck?

Do not send private source audio unless explicitly requested and you are comfortable sharing it.
