Audely for iPhone and iPad

Browse, listen, manage source folders and individual items, generate podcast transcripts, sync, and restore on iPhone and iPad.

A complete listening library on mobile

Audely on iPhone and iPad is a complete local podcast and audiobook player focused on browsing, search, playback, and individual library actions. iPad presents the same library with navigation adapted to its larger screen.

Requirements

Audely requires iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. iPhone is portrait-only. iPad supports portrait, portrait upside down, and both landscape orientations.

Move around Audely

Use the main tabs to move between Home, Library, and Search on iPhone and iPad. The mini-player remains available while audio is loaded and opens the full Now Playing screen. iPad uses the same tab structure with layouts adapted to its larger display.

Use the Podcasts/Audiobooks menu beside Settings on Home to switch content. Podcast Home can show Shows, Continue listening, Recently added, Recently finished, Catch up, and Rediscover. Audiobook Home can show Books, Continue listening, Recently added, and Recently finished. Scroll to the bottom and choose Customise to arrange each scope independently.

Open Settings › Library and add a folder through the system file picker. Choose whether it contains Podcasts, Audiobooks, or both, then classify audiobook files in a mixed folder. The folder options can Scan folder, Review new files, Review ignored files, open Folder information, and Browse in Files when those actions apply. A folder in iCloud Drive can be useful across devices, but Audely still needs separate permission on every iPhone or iPad.

Removing a folder from Audely affects only this device’s access and never deletes the folder or its audio.

Browse and edit

Library has fixed Podcasts and Audiobooks groups. Podcasts contains Shows, Episodes, and Favourites with sorting and played-state filters. Audiobooks contains Books and audiobook Favourites. Content-specific actions provide playback, queue, played state, settings, notes, and safe library deletion where relevant.

Show settings covers title, description, artwork, episode order, played-episode visibility, and playback speed. Episode settings covers title, description, and artwork. Book settings covers title, description, artwork, and playback speed. Part settings covers part number, title, description, and artwork. Audiobook author, narrator, series, and publication information come from imported metadata. Audiobook favourites and episode, part, or audiobook notes use their separate actions. Mobile editing intentionally handles one item at a time.

Listen and manage the queue

Open Now Playing for progress, speed, skip controls, a sleep timer, embedded chapters, audio output, system volume, and the upcoming queue. Lock Screen, Control Centre, AirPlay, Bluetooth, and supported remote controls remain available while Audely is in the background.

Generate a transcript

With Audely Pro, download the transcription model in Settings › Transcripts, then open a podcast episode’s actions and choose Generate transcript. Generation is started manually per episode and runs one episode at a time. Follow or cancel queued work from Settings › Transcripts › Transcriptions, and remove a transcript or the local model without Pro. Audiobook parts do not offer transcription.

Sync and backups

Settings also contains General preferences, Appearance, Sync, Backup, Help & feedback, About, and Audely Pro. Enable sync to keep supported library information up to date through your private iCloud account. Backup management can create, inspect, restore, and delete recent recovery points.

See Settings and appearance, Sync across devices, and Cloud backups and restore for the safety details behind those actions.
