Decide what plays next and navigate embedded chapters without changing the original audio file.
Plan what plays next
The queue controls the upcoming listening order. Chapters provide named points inside an episode or part when the source audio contains embedded chapter data.
Add audio to the queue
Open an episode or part’s actions from Home, Library, Search, or a detail page:
- Play next places it at the front of the upcoming queue.
- Play last places it after the items already queued.
Adding an item while nothing is loaded starts playback from the queue. The current item is kept separate from the upcoming list.
Open and edit the queue
iPhone and iPad
Open Now Playing, then choose Play queue. Drag queued items into a new order, or open a row’s options to play it now or remove it.
Mac
Open Play queue from the player bar. Drag items into a new order, double-click or use the row action to play one now, or remove it from the queue.
Playing a queued item immediately removes it from the upcoming list after playback starts successfully. Removing it from the queue does not remove it from the library.
The active Now Playing item and queue stay on the current device. They are not copied to another device by sync.
Queue and continuous playback
Queued items always play before Audely chooses the next podcast episode or audiobook part. If an unavailable queued item cannot start, Audely tries the next playable queue candidate. Once the explicit queue is exhausted, podcasts follow the Continuous playback preference and audiobooks resume canonical part order.
Clear the queue
Use Clear queue when you want to remove the entire upcoming sequence. The current item keeps playing. A podcast may still continue according to Continuous playback. An audiobook continues with its immediately following part.
Open chapters
iPhone and iPad
Open Now Playing, then choose Chapters.
Mac
Choose Chapters from the player bar.
Choose a chapter to seek directly to its start time. The control is unavailable when the current file has no embedded chapters.
Audely reads embedded chapters from the source audio. They are not rewritten, edited, synced, or included in a cloud backup.
If chapters disappear, confirm that the source audio is still available on the device. Audely reads chapter markers from the file when needed, so synced library information alone cannot restore them.
