Listening and library management on Mac

Audely for Mac combines podcast and audiobook listening with source-folder management, detailed editing, and batch work that benefit from a desktop screen, keyboard, and file system.

Audely requires macOS 26 or later.

Move around Audely

Use the sidebar to open Home, the fixed Podcasts and Audiobooks destinations, Search, and direct podcast or audiobook shortcuts. Home switches between independent podcast and audiobook scopes. Podcast Home includes Shows, Continue listening, Recently added, Recently finished, Catch up, and Rediscover. Audiobook Home includes Books, Continue listening, Recently added, and Recently finished.

The player bar remains available while an episode or part is loaded, so you can browse the library without leaving playback controls behind.

Everyday listening

Use the player bar for play and pause, skip intervals, progress, speed, chapters, transcript access, the play queue, AirPlay or Bluetooth output, and volume. The sleep timer and supported keyboard or system media commands remain available while you work in another app.

Manage source folders

Open Audely › Settings › Library to add source folders. Choose whether a new folder contains Podcasts, Audiobooks, or both. Use Scan all folders to check registered folders for changes. Select a folder to open Folder information, classify pending mixed-folder files, review ignored files, Reveal in Finder, reset excluded audio, or remove Audely’s access. Folder information reports audio, non-audio, unsupported, not-downloaded, unavailable, and excluded files where relevant.

Removing a folder from Audely does not delete the folder or its audio.

Edit library details

Show settings covers title, description, artwork, episode order, played-episode visibility, and podcast-specific playback speed. Episode settings covers title, description, and artwork. Book settings covers title, description, artwork, and audiobook-specific playback speed. Part settings covers part number, title, description, and artwork. Audiobook author, narrator, series, and publication information come from imported metadata. Audiobook favourites and episode, part, or audiobook notes use their separate actions.

Mac also provides bulk editing for larger corrections across selected episodes and parts. Podcast-only fields affect only podcast rows in a mixed selection. Library lists support content-appropriate sorting, played-state filters, multi-selection, favourites, played and unplayed actions, queue actions, and safe deletion. Changes remain inside the Audely library and do not rewrite source audio.

Transcript workflows

With Audely Pro, read and search full podcast transcripts, generate one transcript, queue selected podcast episodes for batch generation, generate missing podcast transcripts, or enable automatic generation for newly imported podcast audio. Audiobook parts are excluded. Transcription runs on the Mac after the model is downloaded in Audely › Settings › Transcripts.

Transcriptions shows active and waiting work. Cancelling generation and removing transcripts or the downloaded model remain available without Audely Pro.

Settings, sync, and backups

Open Audely › Settings for General playback and list defaults, Library, Transcripts, Appearance, Sync, and Backup. Open Audely › Audely Pro… to start, restore, or manage a subscription.

Sync keeps supported library information current across devices. Cloud backups create versioned recovery points and can replace the current library during restore. Neither uploads source audio. Read Sync across devices and Cloud backups and restore before using their destructive data controls.

Continue on mobile

Enable sync on the mobile device and on Mac, then link a playable audio folder on both. Supported library information and listening state can follow you, while each device retains its own folder access. Mobile keeps the everyday listening and single-item workflows but leaves bulk editing, batch transcription, automatic generation, and table-based folder administration on Mac.
