Download a local model, generate podcast transcripts on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and search spoken words privately.
Turn podcast audio into searchable text
Audely generates podcast transcripts on your device without sending the source audio elsewhere. Generated text may contain mistakes, so check important names, numbers, and quotations against the audio.
Download a transcription model
Audely Pro is required to read or search full podcast transcripts, download the transcription model, and generate podcast transcripts.
iPhone and iPad
Open Settings inside Audely, choose Transcripts, then download the model.
Mac
Open Audely › Settings, select Transcripts, then download the model.
The Transcripts page shows the model’s download size and status. Each device needs its own downloaded copy before it can generate transcripts.
The model uses local storage after download. Cancelling an incomplete download or removing the model is always available, even without Audely Pro. Removing it does not remove transcripts that have already been generated.
Generate a transcript
iPhone and iPad
Open an episode’s actions and choose Generate transcript. Mobile generation is started manually per episode and processes one episode at a time. Additional episodes started individually wait in Transcriptions.
Mac
Open an episode’s transcript actions and choose Generate transcript. Mac can also queue several selected episodes, generate missing transcripts in bulk, or enable Generate on import in Transcripts settings.
Keep Audely open and the audio file available while generation is running. Transcriptions shows work that is queued or active. You can cancel one episode or cancel all queued work without deleting completed transcripts.
Read and search
Episode pages show a short preview when transcript text exists. With Audely Pro, choose Show transcript or More to open the full text.
Enable Include transcripts in search on the Transcripts page in Settings to match spoken words from saved transcripts. Search results still identify the matching episode, so you can open its page or begin playback from the result.
Remove a transcript
Use a podcast episode’s transcript action to remove one transcript. The Transcripts page in Settings can remove all saved transcripts from the current library. These actions permanently remove the saved text but do not remove or change source audio.
Supported languages
Audely detects the spoken language automatically and supports transcription in 100 languages. Results vary by language and recording quality.
When your Audely Pro subscription ends
Existing transcripts stay in your library and short episode previews remain available. Full transcript reading, transcript-text search, model download, and new generation pause. You can still cancel active work and remove transcripts or the downloaded model. Starting or restoring Pro makes the retained full transcripts available again.
Privacy and sync
Generation happens on your device. If you enable sync, saved transcript text can move between your devices through iCloud. If cloud backups are enabled, transcripts can also be included in a recovery point. Audely never uploads source audio for transcription, sync, or backup.
