Frequently asked questions

Where is podcast transcription processed?

Transcription runs on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac that starts the work. The podcast audio is not sent to Audely or an external transcription service.

Does podcast transcription require Audely Pro?

Yes. Audely Pro is required to download the transcription model, generate new podcast transcripts, read full transcripts, and search transcript text. The free version can show a short preview when transcript data already exists.

Can Audely transcribe audiobooks?

No. Transcript generation is available only for podcast episodes. Audiobook parts are always excluded.

Which languages can Audely detect?

The current model automatically detects spoken language and can generate text in around 100 languages. Accuracy varies with language, accent, pace, recording quality, noise, overlapping speech, and specialist vocabulary.

Can I generate several transcripts at once?

On Mac, Audely Pro can queue selected episodes, generate missing podcast transcripts, and optionally generate transcripts for newly imported podcast audio. On iPhone and iPad, generation is started manually for one episode at a time.

What happens when your Audely Pro subscription ends?

Existing transcript text is not deleted when your Audely Pro subscription ends. Full reading and transcript search pause, while short previews and transcript-removal controls remain available. Subscribing again restores access to retained transcripts.
