How to download and play Libro.fm audiobooks in another app

Libro.fm lets you download purchased audiobooks as ordinary DRM-free audio files. You can choose separate MP3 tracks or one M4B file, then keep the download in a folder and play it with a compatible audiobook app such as Audely.

Download the audiobook from Libro.fm

On a computer, sign in and open your Libro.fm audiobook library. Find the purchased book and choose Files.

Libro.fm offers two useful formats:

• Choose M4B for one file containing the complete audiobook.
• Choose the MP3 ZIP files when you want separate tracks.

These options follow Libro.fm’s official download instructions. If you download MP3 ZIP files on Mac, double-click any ZIP that does not open automatically.

Put the book in its own folder

Keep the M4B or extracted MP3 files together in one clearly named folder. For example:

• Audiobooks/Author/Book title/Book title.m4b
• Audiobooks/Author/Book title/01 - Opening.mp3

If you want the same source available to iPhone and iPad, place the folder in iCloud Drive and let it finish uploading. Every device still needs the actual audio downloaded before completely offline playback.

Add the folder to Audely

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings › Library, choose Add folder, and select the audiobook folder through Files. On Mac, open Audely › Settings › Library and choose Add folder.

Identify the folder as Audiobooks. Audely scans the audio in place and organises it as a book with one or more parts. It does not upload the source file or move it into an Audely account.

Choose between MP3 and M4B

Both formats work in Audely. An M4B is convenient when you prefer one file and may include embedded chapters. MP3 is useful when the publisher supplies a book as separate tracks. Keep the original download rather than converting a working book merely to change its container.
